These terms cover your use of Teach Playbook at teachplaybook.com, operated by Teach Playbook LLC (“Teach Playbook”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Teach Playbook.

1. Who can use Teach Playbook

Teach Playbook accounts are for coaches, parents, guardians and other authorized adults, and for players who are 13 or older. Children under 13 may use Teach Playbook only through access a parent or guardian provides and supervises, such as the parent’s own account. Children under 13 may not create their own account or provide personal information directly to Teach Playbook.

Parents, guardians and team administrators are responsible for supervising the access they provide to minors. If you’re under 18, use Teach Playbook with a parent’s or guardian’s permission.

2. Your account

You sign in with your email address. Keep access to that inbox secure, because anyone who can read it can sign in as you. You’re responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@teachplaybook.com if you think someone else has used it.

3. Teams and access codes

A team owner can invite coaches (who can add and edit the team’s plays) and viewers (who can watch them) by sharing access codes. Anyone with a code can join that team until the owner replaces it, so share codes only with people who should have access. Team owners are responsible for who they invite and for removing people who shouldn’t have access.

During early access, we may set reasonable limits on the number of teams, members, plays, uploads or other resources associated with an account or team. Current limits are shown in the service.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the plays, notes and other content you create or upload. You give us a limited permission to store, display, copy and process that content only as needed to run Teach Playbook for you and the people you share it with.

When you add content to a team’s playbook, you also give that team permission to keep using, editing and storing it as part of its playbook, including after you leave the team.

Only upload content you have the right to share, and nothing that is illegal, harmful or harassing or that infringes someone else’s rights. Don’t upload photos, videos, health information, home addresses, phone numbers or other unnecessary personal information about children. Identify players by position or jersey number rather than full names.

5. Acceptable use

Don’t misuse Teach Playbook. In particular, don’t:

• try to bypass sign-in, access codes or other security or access controls;
• try to access, probe or collect other users’ teams, accounts or data;
• scrape the service or access it with automated tools, other than an ordinary web browser;
• upload malicious code, or disrupt or overload the service;
• use Teach Playbook to send spam or to harass anyone.

We may remove content, or suspend or close access, when these terms are materially violated or when it’s reasonably necessary to protect Teach Playbook, its users or other people.

6. Plays and simulations are teaching aids

Teach Playbook helps you draw, animate and explain plays. The animations are simplified models of how a play might unfold, not predictions of real games. Simulation outcomes depend on the assignments, settings and assumptions you choose. Nothing in Teach Playbook is professional coaching, medical or safety advice. You’re responsible for coaching safely, following your league’s rules, and making sure players are properly supervised, equipped and ready to play.

7. Pricing

Teach Playbook is free during early access. We plan to charge per team, per season. We’ll tell you before any charges start, and nothing will be charged without your agreement.

8. Changes to the service and to these terms

Teach Playbook is in early access, and features may be added, changed or removed as it develops.

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change is significant, we’ll let you know by email or on the site before it takes effect. If you keep using Teach Playbook after updated terms take effect, you accept them.

9. Warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability

We work to keep Teach Playbook running and your data safe, but it’s provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Teach Playbook is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you haven’t paid anything.

Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain warranty exclusions or limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using Teach Playbook at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing support@teachplaybook.com. Content you added to a team’s playbook stays available to that team. Personal content associated only with your account is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Teach Playbook

Teach Playbook and its software, design, branding and other service materials belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you permission to use the service; they don’t transfer ownership of Teach Playbook or its technology to you. You may not copy, sell, redistribute or commercially exploit the service itself except as the law allows or with our permission.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
